I've never fished there. However, I tried to check into it for a fishing location last summer. It appears that the only legal way to fish the pond is to fish along the road right out way, unless you know a land owner who will let you on. I've heard that the pond contains some good carp but I haven't talked to anyone who has fished the pond in recent times. Mostly, I am hearing from old timers that fished the pond years ago, and they aren't guys that would really use our methods of fishing. They caught carp while trying for other types of fish.

I fished there year before last. Right on the overpass by the gas station. Spent 3 hours, never got a run.

Thanks found it. Doesn't sound as if it's worth the trek down for me though?

I was down in the Goodrich area today and did a little checking on the mill pond. It appears that the only way in is at the bridge on Hegel road. There is a place off ridge road where the pond comes up fairly close to the road but there isn't a good place to park. The Goodrich church of God backs up to the mill pond but they probably won't want people parking there and fishing. The bank behind the church is brush covered anyway so it wouldn't be handy to fish from the bank there. The fire department backs up to the bank also but they don't allow any parking in their lot and probably wouldn't want people fishing just over the hill from their lot either.
I talked to a young man who does fish in the pond and he sees carp, some fairly big. He carries his row boat down to the bridge and goes into the pond off the gas station parking lot. He parks in town close to the bridge. He recommended going to the Atlas mill pond that connects to the one in Goodrich by river. The Atlas mill pond is totally private but dumps water under Perry road. He sometimes fishes for carp on the north side of the bridge on Perry road where the water forms a pool before going into the river. He say the big problem is finding a place to park. He walks down to be bridge and says on a clear day you can see the big carp in the pool. He held his hands out about 3 feet wide to discribe the length of the carp he sometimes sees. He fishes for carp with corn on what he said was a catfish hook.
I drive down to look the area over, it isn't more than 2-3 miles from Goodrich. The south side of the bridge where the mill pond is has a fence to keep people out. The north side of the bridge steep and rock covered down to the water. The pipe that the water flows through under the bridge is very large and the end is covered with a chain link gate. There wouldn't be much space to fish. Poles for bite alarms wouldn't be able to be put into the ground because of all the rocks.
To me, it looks like a place that one or two people might try to fish with no more than a couple of rods each. The casts would be short so standard carp rods would be over kill. The pipe extends quite far into the pool of water that leads to the river so there is probably room for one person on each side of the pipe.

If it's the place I think it is looking at google earth it looks a little tight to say the least. Still certainly worth giving it a try and it's always great to find somewhere to fish that's close to home doesn't take long to get to.
Good luck with it.

There are basically two places to fish from the bank in Goodrich Mill Pond. The first is on the South side of Parry rd. near the dam. You can park across the street in the park near the dam. The bank is quite steep, but you can comfortably set up rods and sit on the grass. The other is from the back of the gas station / party store on the corner of M-15 & Perry. There's a big tree that you see lot's of folks fishing under. Other than that, I know of no other access.
