This one came from a new park on Ford, this lake always seems to turn up something new for me each year

Fantastic stuff Kev!!

For me it was seeing the numerous Big Fish come out from many waters and from Many anglers in Michigan.

Being able to experience area 51.

Meeting Dave, Mark and all the other new fellas.

Netting Nikki's new Personal Best.

Alex and I Winning our section and the Big 4 sidepot during the Spring Carp Classic Tourney in Saginaw  $$$

Seeing other Michigan Teams participate and win numerous prizes during the Spring Carp Classic.

The 1st fundraiser we organized and the support and generosity shown by our fellow MI anglers to get more teams into the Saginaw Tourney.

Seeing the Master Angler Program take root.

Hearing about DruDaddies 3 thirties from three different waters.

Seeing all the joy Mark created by sharing his honey hole.

Meeting Dave on the banks of Saginaw and helping him with his method mix and taking pics for him.

Fishing the Saginaw fish-in with Ryan, Don, Mark, and DruDaddy.

Being asked to be part of a new committee to help form MCAC.

But above all else it was seeing Alex catch his first near 30 lber :D and then hearing about his official 31 lber 8)

See you suckas in 2010...Happy New Year!!!

yes 2009 was a very good year indeed!
everything that andy said plus:
seeing many of the members trying new method mixes and baits!
me making my own bolilies and catching lots of fish on them!including 2 30 pounders !
area 51 what a great spot !
fishing the big money turny where a number of the so called pros ran away!
being schooled by lil andy on how to handle the pressures of a big money turny!
lets not forget my pb! wow ! what a beast!
sharing bank space with all the michigan greats ! andy, lil andy, alex, jerry, mark, kev, rayon,
brandon,dave, dave,don,just to name a few!
teaching a carp class at the spring fishing show! and being invited back again this year!
if 2010 is half that good i will be a happy man!

- Sharing a great spot with some great people, resulting in at least 5 new PB's (that I know of). Hopefully this will expand to the lake this year ..
- Preparing for & experiencing the Spring tourney.
- Spending a very chilly night camping on the banks of the Saginaw with my son during the weekend fish-in and watching him catch his first 20# fish.
- Spending a couple of days fishing fish Don on the Saginaw and letting the 'bullheads' play/fight/make-up/play/fight/make-up in the background.
- Taking my son's scout master carp fishing for the first time and watching him grab the rod on the first run, which nearly jerked him into the river after he set the drag (turned out to be a 20# fish).
- My son's first mirror.
- Drew's goldfish :o !!!
- Helping out Bill (potential new carper!)
- Finally catching my first 30# fish very late in the year.

My highlight was definitely getting the two 25's in one outing. That was a banner day.

Can't wait for my first 30 in 2010!

I can play this game

Deciding to get into carp fishing
Discovering the Bivvy
First Fish-in on the Saginasty
Meeting Andy, Don et al on the bank and seeing how it’s done first hand
Fly fishing for “freshwater bones” on the flats of Lake Huron
First Carp on the fly
Second fish-in at Lansing - meeting Kev and gang there.
Discovering baitrunners
First mirror
Losing count of all the 20+ fish this year
Hooking up with Robert and finding a fishing partner only 2 hours drive away!
Upgrading 25yr + old carp fishing gear.
Doing the homework, scouting and catching my first 30+ fish
Seeing/Knowing what’s going to happen in 2010 and how much better it will be.

Not a bad Rookie year……………..
:P

My best moment had to be catching my first Carp on the rod that Alex Gray gave me, under a float, using live bait, after I had given up on catching any Carp that day, in one of the most beautiful and challenging Carp spots I know of anywhere.
